Wildkogel Arena

Neukirchen & Bramberg

Wild, Full and Happy.
ENJOY THE MULTI-AWARD-WINNING WILDKOGEL ARENA ON SKIS, ON SLEDGES, AT THE LAID TABLE OR IN THE QUIET NATIONAL PARK VALLEYS

I just blame it on the view. That I'm constantly swinging off, stopping at the edge of the slopes and letting my eyes wander. The Hohe Tauern spreads out in front of us like a sea of mountains. How good that we didn't fly south! Here, we have landed on the sunny side of the Hohe Tauern National Park and I can hardly get enough of this wintry sea of glaciers and snow, whose white mountains stand out like foam crowns in front of the winter sky.

The Wildkogel Arena resembles a sunny box at 2,100 metres above sea level and almost at eye level with the most famous peak in the region - the legendary, 3,657-metre-high Großvenediger, which rises at the end of the Untersulzbach Valley and attracts alpine ski tourers, especially in spring.

Well, maybe I will swing off because my legs are a little tired. One's calves are not spared here in the Wildkogel Arena, even if the slopes are 85 percent red and blue and thus extremely family-friendly. So, it's time to step on the gas and collect badges along the way is simply fun on these wonderfully groomed slopes.

But maybe I keep stopping due to the fact that it got quite late last night, later than expected. But my goodness, if I can crown myself Racing Queen on the longest illuminated toboggan run in the world at 14 kilometres and 1,300 metres of altitude, then this has to be celebrated even after the end at 10 pm.

But of course there are other reasons to indulge in the pleasure of lingering. For example, to stop off in one of the many huts or to watch the ski kiddies as they happily whizz through the obstacles and wave to the thickly padded mascot Kogel Mogel and his girlfriend Kogel-Mia.

It is simply endearing to see how much fun they have in the Family Fun Arena with Funslope and Family Park, children's area and family restaurants. The love of alpine winter sports is stirred up by these three-year-olds in a playful and yet sustainable way.

And speaking of sustainability, it plays a particularly important role in the Wildkogel Arena. The new e-train "eLINER" brings us winter sports enthusiasts in a climate-friendly way from the end of the valley run in Neukirchen back to the valley station of the Wildkogelbahn. That also makes us happy at the end of the day!
